Today is my first day using Invisalign. I’m thrilled about finally having straight teeth, but I hope it gets easier. It literally took me 5 minutes to take out each retainer. I did some research and found some tips on how to easily remove them. I hope this is helpful:
Make sure your mouth is warm.
Begin to remove from the molars forward.
Paper towel for grip.
Don’t Rush.
These tips have made me confident enough to take the Invisalign out. It’s comforting knowing that I’m not the only one who has been through this.
Tanked is a relatively new show on Animal Planet’s line-up and I must say that I am a fan. Following the operations of Las Vegas based Acrylic Tank Manufacturing, Tanked is a reality TV series starring Wayde King and Brett Raymer. Who knew building aquariums could be so entertaining? The interactions with the customers is another reason why I enjoy this show so much. It’s interesting to see what exactly these people need these aquariums for. Neil Patrick Harris ordered his tank for amusement, while others try to promote their businesses. Whichever the case, this show is definitely destined for greatness. This is a must-watch show!
I’ve been following several of the events at UTSA’s Career Week and I’ve already learned a lot of useful information. These events are designed to prepare college students for the professional business world. So far, I’ve been to two panel discussions with employees of several local companies including; Tesoro, VisionWorks, H-E-B, Rackspace, USAA and many more. For attending these events I will receive extra credit, but I really think Career Week is good for students.
Ever since crossing over into Alpha Kappa Psi, I’ve felt exponentially more confident about my marketability. Last year, who knows if I would have gone to these events, but now I want to take advantage of all the opportunities I’m given. Several of the panelists stated that GPA isn’t always a deciding factor in getting the job. They want to see devotion and self motivation. I know I can bring these qualities to the table, but I still need practice.
I know I’m not perfect, so I know there is always something new to learn. In order to develop my professionalism even further, I have volunteered for Junior Achievement and CAP. These programs will help me network and perfect an elevator speech suitable for me. Alpha Kappa Psi has really helped me see and take advantage of these opportunities and I am very grateful. I’ll see you at the Career Fair 9/20
This has got to be one of my favorite comedians of all time. He’s not afraid to cross the line from time to time, but that’s what makes him so funny! This special is actually dedicated to another talented comedian, George Carlin. When I found that out, I felt a lot of respect for Louis. Obviously, George was a role model of his and it’s fortunate that he can follow in the legends footsteps.
Louis even stars on his own show on FX, Louie. The show is just as funny as he is. Check it out!
