It seems as though super hero movies have become their own genre this past decade, and I’m okay with that. It doesn’t mean they’ll all be box office hits or even that enjoyable to watch, but more often than not, they are a good time. However, not all comic book movies are created equal, it depends on personal preference. For instance, I enjoy most of Marvel’s comic book movies, but DC has fallen flat for me more than once. I have several theories as to why that is, but I’ll bring up the glaringly obvious reason: Humor.
Marvel has never shied away from puns and one liners, it is expected at this point. Thor: Ragnarok is no exception. In fact, I would consider this Marvel’s funniest movie to date. Yes, even funnier than Guardians of the Galaxy. At the very least, they’re at the same level, which is saying a lot.
This movie had me smiling and laughing throughout and that’s enough reason for me to wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone I know. Solid A! Happy Watching.
“The revolution has begun!”
If you haven’t seen this movie before, you might think it’s overrated, but I can assure you it is not. This “coming of age” movie pulled me in right away and was a blast to watch! Robin Williams teaching poetry and mentoring a small group of boys doesn’t necessarily sound like a movie you “have” to see, but this film is executed so beautifully that it is. There is a hint of nostalgia I get from some of the classroom scenes, although this was years before my time. I could have swore I was watching young children at the beginning of this movie, but along the way it’s clear to see that these boys are actually young adults. And Robin Williams is there to guide them and us through their journey. There is a fantastic scene where Ethan Hawke adlibs a poem in front of the classroom with the support of Robin Williams and it’s tearjerkingly satisfying. I honestly can’t say enough great things about this movie. I’m surprised it’s only rated 8/10 stars on IMDb. This is a must see. Happy Watching.
“O Captain! My Captain!”
I have a soft spot for comedies and this silly movie pulled me in from the get go. Zach Gallifinakis is as lovable as ever and I don’t get tired of watching his character fumble through situations. The entire cast is stacked with comedic power, so what’s not to like? Don’t take this movie too seriously, although it was based on true events. Happy Watching.
“That’s a good GooGoo Cluster!”
Side Note: It’s half the cast from the new Ghostbusters and twice as funny.
This has to be one of the funniest shows on TV. Although the newest season has a different writer, the show is still as witty as ever. I think my favorite characters would have to be Troy and Abed. They’re such great friends and they do just about everything together. Their adventures are comedy gold..
This is how I feel when i’m trying to catch a fly. It gets ridiculous after the 2nd minute.
My good friend showed me this video a while back. It’s a short skit about three friends and their different pronunciations of the word “Milk”. My first reaction was that this video is hilarious! Let me know what you think.
