If you liked the humor and action in the first movie, but weren’t the biggest fan of his sexcapades, you’re going to enjoy this movie a whole lot more. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Deadpool, but this sequel solidifies his “Hero” in my mind. Ryan Reynolds has essentially become this character and you can tell from his performance that he’s having a lot of fun.
Be ready to laugh out loud! This movie dialed up the humor to 11 and it kills, sometimes literally! There is so much to unpack from this movie, I can only see it getting better on repeat viewings. I’ll give it a solid B for now. Happy Watching!
It seems as though super hero movies have become their own genre this past decade, and I’m okay with that. It doesn’t mean they’ll all be box office hits or even that enjoyable to watch, but more often than not, they are a good time. However, not all comic book movies are created equal, it depends on personal preference. For instance, I enjoy most of Marvel’s comic book movies, but DC has fallen flat for me more than once. I have several theories as to why that is, but I’ll bring up the glaringly obvious reason: Humor.
Marvel has never shied away from puns and one liners, it is expected at this point. Thor: Ragnarok is no exception. In fact, I would consider this Marvel’s funniest movie to date. Yes, even funnier than Guardians of the Galaxy. At the very least, they’re at the same level, which is saying a lot.
This movie had me smiling and laughing throughout and that’s enough reason for me to wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone I know. Solid A! Happy Watching.
“The revolution has begun!”
This dark comedy is just what the doctor ordered! At this point, I’ll give any Netflix original I try and Little Evil doesn’t disappoint. It has it’s lulls, but it makes up for it with well timed jokes or scares. Adam Scott is always a pleasure to watch and I think that’s partly due to his characters being super relatable and engaging. He’s easy to root for and, in this movie, he needs all the help he can get. it’s your typical step-father film, but the twist is that his step-son may or may not be the anti-Christ. And the hilarity ensues from there.
Opening line: “I.. Want.. A divorce!”
I’m not sure how this comedy slipped past me during my first year in college… I guess that explains it, but in all seriousness, this was a hysterical movie! Who knew the world of competitive butter carving could be so cut throat?! There’s a lot to like about this movie, but I think Rob Corddry steals the show. He is, by no means “the main character”, but this toned down version of the Rob Corddry I know from Hot Tub Time Machine and Children’s Hospital, meshes perfectly with the rest of the cast. He also delivers on a couple of key emotional moments. I think it was great casting all around really. All of the characters have funny moments, but it’s definitely geared toward an adult audience. Olivia Wilde plays Brooke, a vengeful stripper with rent to pay. And while I don’t understand or believe in all of her motivations, I have a hard time faulting her because she’s just so easy to watch! Anyways, hide your kids, hide your wife (just kidding), this movie is full of laughs! Happy Watching!
“So, I get pregnant like once a month.” – Brooke
I have a soft spot for comedies and this silly movie pulled me in from the get go. Zach Gallifinakis is as lovable as ever and I don’t get tired of watching his character fumble through situations. The entire cast is stacked with comedic power, so what’s not to like? Don’t take this movie too seriously, although it was based on true events. Happy Watching.
“That’s a good GooGoo Cluster!”
Side Note: It’s half the cast from the new Ghostbusters and twice as funny.
The title says it all. It’s a bad week to be a seal!
Possibly one of the best memes ever, mainly because it’s true for a lot of positions today. And Frodo’s face is priceless. I’m very fortunate to have acquired so much experience at a young age. Thanks to my family and friends who support me, I have no intention of being in this position.
